Over the course of six transformative weeks, starting on October 16, 2024, I joined over 100 mentees and 25 mentors from around the globe 🌎. Together, we collaborated to enhance our skills, contribute to the WordPress project, and deepen our understanding of open-source development.
This program, organized by the 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, has been a remarkable journey. 🚀 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞:
📚 Weeks 1–2: Orientation sessions, mentor introductions, and goal-setting.
🛠️ Weeks 3–4: Hands-on contributions to WordPress teams and projects.
🎓 Weeks 5–6: Continued contributions, drafting 30-60-90 day plans, and finally—graduation!
I contributed to 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟔.𝟕 and participated in release parties!
Some key highlights:
🌟 242 props from mentors and mentees, with 160 props by mentees alone.
🌟 14 first-time contributors joined the WordPress project.
🌟 176,156 strings translated into 31 languages during WordPress Translation Week!
I’m honored to have my work featured alongside 𝟔𝟐 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 who made this program so impactful, including my own mention in the official post: @𝗔𝗹𝗶𝟳𝗔𝗹𝗶 🙌. You can check out the full announcement here:
